After a month on the beach, Karen and I drove home to Dallas today. It's a long drive--over 400 miles. We started pretty early and got home in time for dinner. We decided to phone out for pizza. The last things we wanted was either to go our or to cook.
Although we had put a stop mail order on our mail, we arrived to find a huge stack of mail--brought in by our neighbors at least (thanks, Bill and Graciella). I got some new books to review, some chocolate, a whole bunch of Christmas cards, and a CD of piano pieces.
I've decided to spend the rest of the week planning out my next book--a were-dragon story--rather than launch right into it. I want to spend some time developing the characters. I don't know that I'll ever change from being a pantser (writing by the seat of my pants), but I do want to have a better idea of where this story is going.
I'm going to make TORNADO BAIT by Amy Eastlake the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day. Tina Anderson's whole day gets ruined when she discovers a severed human hand in a trailer sump. With the cops suspicious of her, she's got to find the truth. A fun mystery and it's only $3.99.
