Valentine's Day is one of those made-up holidays, constructed by the greeting card and chocolate industries to persuade us to spend money on their products. That said, woe to any male who neglects to remember the date (it's right up their with birthdays and aniversaries). Fortunately it's easier to remember than those other significant dates because we all have the same Valentine's day.
St. Valentine was one of those mythical saints who might actually have existed, but might have been a recasting of a Roman god (Cupid?) and Roman celebrations.
To celebrate, I took Karen out to dinner at our neighborhood Italian restaurant where we both ate too much and had a nice meal.
I'm still not writing. I put aside the bridge-playing werewolf book for a while and I'm doing rewrites on The Billionaire's Paid-for Princess. I want to start something new but I just don't seem to do it. Distressing--although the rewriting is stuff I also have to do. I finished edits for our next book, THE GLOVE OF SHADOWS and sent the MS back to Joshua Calkins-Treworgy for a final check-through and approval. I hope to get this book published next week.
I'm clunking along on conversions. I'm updating all of the eReader/Palm Reader formatted books now that it's legal to use eReader Studio without the huge royalties that used to be required and I'm also making sure that the older books are also available in Sony Reader, Mobipocket and ePub formats. As always, if you've bought one of our books and it isn't available yet in one of our supported formats, let me know and I'll prioritize for you.
I posted a couple of reviews today: Mercedes Lackey's THE SNOW QUEEN and T. A. Pratt's POISON SLEEP. Both enjoyable. Here are the reviews: www.booksforabuck.com/sfpages/sf_09/snow_queen.html and www.booksforabuck.com/sfpages/sf_09/poison_sleep.html. I was especially pleased that I enjoyed the Mercedes Lackey book because the last one of hers I read was not up to her usual standards.
