BooksForABuck.com is happy to participate once again in Read an eBook Week--this year it's being held from March 8-14 in conjunction with the Epicon conference. I won't be able to attend Epicon this year--the economic hard times have put a crimp on my discressionary spending, but I was able to go a couple of times and it's a good time.
To celebrate Read an eBook Week, we'll have our usual assortment of free eBooks and stories (for free we've got a bunch of excerpts, the short stories: 'A Tactical Error,' 'The Moon over Watermellon Leaves,' and 'Business Triumphant' by me, 'Searching for Dr. Harlow' by Michael Kechula (from A FULL DECK OF ZOMBIES) and 'Against the Season' by Ed Lynskey. A free novel is PRIVATE LIES by Amy Eastlake (a romantic thriller). http://www.booksforabuck.com/rompages/private_lies.html. We've also got an assortment of eBooks for only $1.00--including our latest release, THE GLOVE OF SHADOWS by Joshua Calkins-Treworgy (fantasy) here: http://www.booksforabuck.com/sfpages/sf_09/glove_of_shadows.html. I'm planning on publishing FRAG LIMIT a futuristic mystery by new author S. K. O'Toole tomorrow so it'll be on sale for $1.00 during Read an eBook Week as well.
Speaking of eBooks, did you see that Amazon is making it's Kindle service available on the iPhone? Also available in iPhone is the eReader--one of the oldest eBook reading software programs, but one that's been given a second lease on life by new owners, Fictionwise. As a publisher, I love the idea of competition in eBook distribution. As authors and readers, you should love it too because if one company controlls an entire level of distribution, bad things can happen to authors, readers and publishers who just may get squeezed.
I published a couple more reviews lately. Check out THE UNITED STATES OF ATLANTIS by Harry Turtledove (a retelling of the American Revolution) and NATION by Terry Pratchett (a fascinating story). Here are the reviews: http://www.booksforabuck.com/sfpages/sf_09/united_states_atlantis.html

I'm deep in submissions now--again, they snuck up on me and I'm behind.
