I really don't understand it but I can't get around the realization that completing the ePublication of a book is about a one-day activity. It seems like it should be shorter. All that's involved is creating the various formats (I'm up to seven), writing a review, creating a download page, creating a Buy Now button, and adding the new book to the various links within BooksForABuck.com. It sounds like maybe an hour or so at most, but it doesn't work out that way. Over at Smashwords, they've got some computer program that mangles text into multiple eBook formats in seconds. I used to do more mangling but discovered I ended up with weird text where things like smart quotes were supposed to be. Anyway, I'm happy to announce publication of FRAG LIMIT by S. K. O'Toole.
FRAG LIMIT (see our review here: www.booksforabuck.com/mystery/mys_09/frag_limit.html) is the story of a private eye investigating his friend's death by natural causes. Turns out, some natural causes are VERY unnatural. I found FRAG an entertaining mix of SF and hardboiled detective fiction. As with all of our books, FRAG is on sale for only $1.00 for its first month of availability.
It's March, which means the year is officially not just beginning any more. I've got my window open enjoying one of the few days in Texas where we don't need our heater or our air conditioner (or both which also happens). Of course we're also coming up on Read an eBook Week and author Joshua Calkins-Treworgy has sent me a short story to add to our free reads. I'll put together a Read an eBook Week page listing free and $1 books available to celebrate this annual event. Check back at this blog or over at www.booksforabuck.com to learn the details.
I'm making progress on the werebunny book. It's taken the usual strange turns that mean none of my planning is working out at all.
Have a great weekend and don't forget to celebrate Read an eBook Week.
