First, a bit of news. BooksForABuck.com author Kenneth E. Ingle is participating in the Weatherford College Books n' Authors and All that Jazz conference. Learn more here: http://www.wc.edu/events/books-authors/. If you're in the area, be sure to visit him and tell him I say hi.
Wednesdays are my one out-of-home work day any more. I meant to get a lot done this morning before heading to the club where I work but one thing didn't much lead to anything and I ended up doing almost nothing except running a virus scan. My evil virus seems to have snuck back. I'll have to take extreme measures. I'm so not looking forward to this. I especially don't want to have to re-purchase applications I've bought on-line or lose all of my e-mail.
I was excited that one of our pairs in last week's game did well in the overalls (these were special games that were scored statewide). Their 70% game was worth over 9 silver points--that's a lot, especially for a game at a club. No huge winners today but a nice game. I really enjoy working with my people even if I complain that it isn't as much fun as actually playing. I got a bit of writing done on the way to and from the club while riding the train, plus got a bit of exercise riding my bike between home and the train, then the train and club. After work, I went to fencing and had a pretty serious workout, especially considering I was pretty much a slug while in California.
Here's a clue for my readers out there. Kenneth Ingle told me what he was up to, so I'm making his book, SARAGOSA PRIME, the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day. In a future ruled by conglomerates, trying to set a planet on a path to democracy can lead instead to invasion. Winner White decides to fight back--retaking his family's planet from the invaders. But what can one man do against the tens of thousands of armed soldiers, let alone their huge fleet overhead? Exciting space action--only $3.99. SARAGOSA PRIME is available in HTML, Adobe Acrobat PDF, eReader, Microsoft Reader, Mobipocket, Sony Reader and ePub formats. Here's the URL: http://www.booksforabuck.com/sfpages/sf_08/saragosa_prime.html. Here's the cover (cover design by Karen Leabo):
