I'm not editing, I'm rewriting this blog entry because my last one went away when I clicked an e-mail from FaceBook and the link grabbed this page.
I spent the morning polishing my first chapter to the Billionaire's Purchased Princess, then pulled together a synopsis and sent it to Karen. She didn't like it much--oh, well. I'm all about constructive criticism. Then I got back to work on Michael Paulson's DEADLY STING. I'd hoped to get a lot of editing on this book done on my trip to California but this simply didn't happen (maybe because I discovered Sudoko in the airline magazine). I also discovered web sudoko and discovered that 97% of people are faster than me. Something leads me to believe that there are people who are really good at Sudoko. Since I've already come to terms with the fact that there will always be people better than me in bridge, I guess I should steer clear of another game I'll never be much good at. At least in bridge, there's no reward for fast twitch muscles.
Karen had her 'wishcraft' group over to the house and I got to see my friend Becky Russell briefly. I met Becky back when I was working on my first book (before I met Karen, in fact), and we were in a critique group together for a while. Becky has sold a few books to Silhouette and has been working on a mystery for a couple of years now. I hope she gets it done soon.
I'm going to make ONE HANDSOME DEVIL by Rob Preece the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day. When Sara Slocum and her girlfriend find a spell book, they can't resist trying one for 'the perfect boyfriend.' Something goes very badly wrong, though, and Sara summons a demon from hell instead. She can't send him back and she doesn't dare let him loose. What's a girl to do--especially when he's such a sexy devil? Only $3.99. Available in HTML, Adobe Acrobat PDF, Mobipocket, eReader and Microsoft Reader formats. Here's the link: http://www.booksforabuck.com/rompages/hand_devil.html. Here's the cover (cover design by Karen Leabo):
