While we were visiting my mother in California, she invited us to eat with her in their wonderful dining hall. Karen and I ate...a lot. I haven't weighed myself since I got back (but do my jeans feel a bit tight? Maybe). Karen, being the diligent type, weighed herself, announced she's gained seven pounds, and researched weight reduction. She's discovered a new plan--all you have to do is take a picture (with your cellphone) of whatever you eat. She was very willful--turning down my invitation to go out to breakfast and cooking oatmeal instead.
After oatmeal, I realized I had promised to help George Stone, my fencing instructor, do a demo at a school where he's starting a fencing program so I hurried over and did a little fencing for the kiddos. After lunch (not photographed), we walked to the post office and I mailed off a couple of contracts (one a repeat that the post office managed to lose). I got a bit of work done on the were-rabbit book, but only a bit. I did list DEAD ON with Smashwords and uploaded FIRST CONTACT to Fictionwise. I also took a major whack at the virus that's been messing with me, restoring the computer, downloading hundreds of megs of windows updates, and generally thrashing my hard drive (as I do a virus scan at the same time). I really REALLY hope this beats the virus because I don't know that I'll have the energy to try it again.
For date night, we went to our neighborhood Thai place where Karen really did photograph her dinner. Her theory is that since she photoed all the food, she shouldn't have to photo leftovers next time she eats. What do you think? I'm not so sure.
