It felt weird not to be playing bridge today. If I'd stayed in Oklahoma City, I would have spent the day playing Swiss Teams (assuming we were able to find another pair to team with). Instead, I was at home, slightly hung over from the neighborhood wine tasting last night, and missing the game. Considering how badly I hacked the game while I was playing it, you'd think I was relieved not to be playing--and in a way I was but not too much.
I mowed the lawn this morning. Afterwords, Karen and I went for a bike ride. Our goal was to ride to Laureland Cemetery where her grandparents are buried. We made it to within a mile or so, but when Karen saw the hills we'd have to climb, she gave up and we turned for hom. It was a nice little ride--maybe 15 miles. I was ready to keep going, but Karen was pretty tired. I'm glad she's working out again. Not only do we need the exercise, we need to build up our stamina for the longer rides of this summer's bike trip.
I'm a little disappointed that we had exactly zero people stopping by to look at the house all weekend. It's a beautiful house and it's priced competitively. It should be hopping with activitiy even with the economy weak. I think everyone is waiting, hoping for better deals in the future. As the stock market showed, it's hard to predict what'll happen next.
I'm continuing to battle viruses. Apparently my website got hacked, which is very annoying and scary. I think I've got it completely cleaned.
Tomorrow I sit down and publish DEADLY STING by Michael Paulson. Look for it.
