I'm getting painfully close to the end of the bunny book. I've got a final chase scene, the final conflict, and then a resolution. I don't think I'll be able to finish it tomorrow but I certainly intend to finish it this week. Karen is also hoping to finish her book this week but in her case, she means finishing the rewrites. I've got a ways to go before I'm that far along.
Speaking of far along, I've been reading WARBREAKER by Brandon Sanderson. I've read a couple of his books and this is the strongest yet. Very exciting, some nice twists and turns, and characters who aren't too perfect (although occasionally too stupid).
I'm still battling the virus that's got my computer by the throat. It's amazing. I do a system restore, using a date before I had problems, then I run a virus scan, and everything seems fine. But when I run Microsoft Word, the problems are back. I've got to think there's a connection. I re-loaded Office but I'm waiting until tomorrow to get the energy to re-start Word and see if I've beaten the problem this time. I wouldn't mind using Open Office, but the Mobipocket Creator insists on running Word to create Mobipocket documents. Speaking of which, I've gotten back to work updating files. I've just about finished HOT IN THE SADDLE by Rob Preece, the romance about a bike race. This one was near and dear to me because I actually tried a cross-country bike ride with just me and Karen on a tandem. We didn't quite make a thousand miles--a long way less than across the country. Still, it was a major effort--and something that I remember more fondly with each passing year (as memories of the pain fade).
In honor of my hard work, I'll make HOT IN THE SADDLE the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day. It's only $3.50. Available in HTML, Adobe Acrobat PDF, Palm Reader and Microsoft Reader formats and soon (by the end of this evening, eReader, Mobipocket, Sony Reader and ePub as well).
