I've become fascinated with hurricanes. I see that Felix exploded into a hurricane this evening. Yesterday there was just 'some chance for development.' It didn't take long at all for it to explode from tropical depression to hurricane. Unfortunately it looks like it's heading directly for the Yukatan peninsula--which is where Dean also hit.
Since it's a weekend, I didn't do any writing. I spent some time putting together a second print version of FINDING FUNBOY (www.booksforabuck.com/mystery/mys_07/finding_funboy.html) and correcting a typo on the back cover copy (how embarassing is that?). I also made some progress in my read-through of NanoCorporate and heard back from the second of four authors in the Carpatian Shadows anthology. I also finished reading the thoughful mystery THE DARK STREETS by John Shannon. Here's my review: www.booksforabuck.com/mystery/mys_07/dark_streets.html. I've been very impressed by all of Shannon's books I've read so far (six in all) and am happy to recommend him. Now I'm reading CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE SEXY KIND by Karen Kelley--quite a change in pace.
I'm going to make I, PHILIBERT Q. WINSLOW by Michael Paulson the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day. The police are quick to view Philibert as a suspect when his beautiful assistant ends up dead. Everyone knew Philibert wanted her in the worst way--and that she slept with just about everyone else. Paulson plays with the reader to the point where we're not sure if Philibert might not have pulled it off. Only $3.99. Learn more, read the excerpt, or buy the entire eNovel here: www.booksforabuck.com/mystery/mys_06/i-philibert.html. Here's the cover (cover design by Karen Leabo):
