Yesterday I went on and on about writing--how you have to do it, blah, blah, blah.
Today, I didn't. Jim Harp, whom I've played bridge against a number of times and who's going to be substitute teaching for my bridge class had invited me to play with him today. I rode my bike to the train, the train up to Richardson (the suburb just north of Dallas) and then my bike to Dorsey's Bridge Club. I've felt almost like a liar when I've been telling my bridge students how important it is to actually play bridge but I enjoyed our game a lot. We did okay--good enough for third place and .6 of a master point, and had a couple of monumental screwups. But we survived and had fun. I hope Jim will play with me again in the future.
I got a bit of writing done on the train--using my Jornada. I'll need to unload the SD-RAM and see how much but it wasn't close to ten pages.
When I got home, I figured I'd better get some of my publishing work done. I finished editing When It's Time to Call it a Day by Anthony Perham and mailed my edits back to him. I plugged in the changes from the authors of Carpatian Shadows and flipped a coin on the dates, coming up with the 16th century. Then I did the final prep for Karen's great cover for this book (below)

Beautiful, huh?
I also, finally, managed to get reinstated with Mobipocket after their disaster of a month ago or so. They were off line for a good week. Then I entered Kristina O'Donnelly's two books with us, KORINNA and SPRING RAIN ON THE WIND in the Eppie contest.
Oh, and I handled some queries. I was busy.
Not a lot of reading today. I'm reading THE ELVES OF CINTRA by Terry Brooks.
Tomorrow, I'm going with Karen to Shreveport, Louisianna to hear her do a workshop, have a book signing, etc. Should be fun to see some of my writer-friends there.
I'm going to make SPRING RAIN ON THE WIND the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day. A half-Cherokee woman battles her desires and the forces of magic as she tries to create a life for herself in a world that seeks only to destroy the Indian. Powerful and sensual fiction by O'Donnelly--and it's only $3.99. Learn more, read the free excerpt, or buy the entire eNovel here: www.booksforabuck.com/rompages/rom_2007/spring_rain.html. (Available in HTML, Adobe Acrobat PDF, Mobipocket, Palm DOC and Microsoft Reader formats). Here's the cover:
