It seems like I've been working on NanoCorporate forever. I wrote it over a year ago, but Karen had some real problems with the first draft so I completely rewrote it--definitely writing more new content than I saved of the old, adding multiple viewpoint characters, and altering the structure of the story. After several read-throughs, I ran it back by Karen and also to author Kristina O'Donnelly. I got a lot of feedback from Karen and a really important critique from Kristina so I've been working to incorporate their suggestions. Vita--I saved Shenker. During breaks in our meetings, I've been working on these final readthrough/edits and it's now ready to send to my agent, Caren Johnson. When I get back from this trip, I'll drop it to her. I hope she doesn't want major rewrites, also. I feel like I've really taken this one through the wringer--or maybe it's taken me through the wringer.
Next up, edit-wise, is Deadly Trade, the latest Deacon Bishop book.
I'm still in Hawaii. Karen is off at the marina, trying to track down some fishing charter captains for her research. I'm bummed that our flight back to Dallas will take so long we won't be back in time for the Dallas Area Romance Authors meeting. My buddy, Rebecca Russell is giving the workshop. If you're in Dallas, check it out.
If you read yesterday's blog, you'll see a chance to get one of my books for free--so read down. Even if they're not free, all of our books are super-affordable. Check them out at www.booksforabuck.com.
