I tend to write about the seasons we're having. Since we've been in the midst of summer, I set my book in summer--with sweltering heat, Dallas's relatively new feature, humidity, and the hard-beating sun. Today, possibly to give me a bit of atmosphere for my story, summer hit hard. It was only 92o give or take, but it felt a lot hotter. Karen and I walked to the library through the worst of it. It was a big day for me--returned eight, checked out one (I admit that at least 3 of the returned books were Karen's, but still, a net profit of at least 4--not bad).
I got back to forward progress on my story. I'm in a bit of a bind now--I've got Ryan, my DHS agent, watching Sophia, my librarian/heroine, like a hawk but Sophia has got to get together with Edward, the antagonist. I guess I have the weekend to figure out how to do it--and then I'll get back to work on the story on Monday.
I spent some serious time editing on WHEN IT'S TIME TO CALL IT A DAY by Anthony Perham. I've got to get cracking on the edits if I'm going to make my schedule for this month. Running hard and still falling behind--especially with my trip coming up.
I've got my consulting job coming up in a week. I normally manage to get some work done on these trips, but not much as my days are filled with meetings. Since I'm taking Karen with me on this trip, I won't have as much evening time as I did on my last consulting trip.
