As always, I had big plans for the weekend. As so often happens, what I actually accomplished was a bit less. I continued doing the final stages to get DEADLY TRADE by Michael Paulson ready for release. Karen was busy most of the day at a 'buns and roses' tea for booksellers and readers, so nothing happened on the cover. But the manuscript is just about ready--one more read-through and I'll be ready to go. Possibly I can finish this tomorrow and publish later in the week. I'd better because I'm behind.
I made a little progress in Tracy Garrett's TOUCH OF TEXAS.
The day wasn't a complete waste--I went to our Sunday black belt class, worked on forms and then on some combination drills. That was fun and a good workout. But overall, the weekend just got away from me. Bummer.
I'm going to make EYE OF THE STORM by Amy Eastlake the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day. When her best friend is killed in a supposed bicycle accident, Aila Jallay suspects foul play. When the cops send detective Jerry Miller to persuade her to back off, she's sure of it. But when she persuades Miller the case is worth looking into, all of a sudden both of them become suspects for murder--and worse. Lots of action--a RWA Golden Heart Finalist--and only $3.99. Adobe Acrobat PDF, Palm DOC, Microsoft Reader, and Palm Reader/eReader formats): www.booksforabuck.com/rompages/rom_2006/eye_storm.html. Here's the cover (cover design by Jane Graves):
