Just to let you know how lucerative the ePublishing world is, my car is a 1992 Mazda Miata. This has been a wonderful car for me but over the last few weeks, especially with the cooler snap we've had, the engine has been a bit sluggish in starting. So, I took it to the shop for an oil change and battery check. Sure enough, after six years, the battery is a little long on the tooth. I wish I could get batteries in my laptops to last that long (of course, I wouldn't want to carry around a battery that big). Anyway, they had to order a battery from Mazda, so I'm carless. Probably just as well--it let me spend the entire day working.
It took me all morning and half the afternoon to finish my ten pages. And abruptly I realized I'm also running out of time to get my Golden Heart entries together. I need to polish up three opening 50 pages. That's a lot, as well as finish the current WIP. So, what did I do--I decided to knuckle down and finish my edits on Anthony Perham's A FULL ENGLISH PROBLEM. This is looking pretty good--I hope he'll be pleased by the light edit it got and we'll be able to move forward with it very soon--as in next week. Over the weekend, when I'm not at meetings or hosting a wine tasting, I'll work on editing my own stuff. Then next week, I'll start working on AFTER THE DRAGON by Wendy Palmer, our next publication (after PROBLEM).
Karen and I skipped our Friday library walk as I'm way behind on my reading and had nothing to return and no need to check anything out. Maybe that's why I had more time to edit--if I stop exercising altogether, maybe I'll just have all kinds of time. This does NOT sound like a great solution. Oh, and I have a blog entry over at Branches of Life on Halloween. Check it out here: http://branchesoflife.blogspot.com/2007/10/holidays-that-disappoint.html
