Every year author Lea Schizas has a free week-long writing seminar. There are dozens of presenters, hundreds of attendees, and a lot of positive energy. This year, I'm hosting a bit of an open house area for BooksForABuck.com, letting people know who we are, what we offer, and why authors should consider submitting to us. Considering I'm a bit behind on my submissions, I'm almost reluctant to encourage too much, but I do need to keep a flow of submissions if I'm going to continue to grow the business. Anyway, if you're attending this year's Muse Online Writer's Conference, please stop by the BFAB area and say hi. If you're not, it's too late to sign up for this year's, but get your sign-up in early for next year.
Eleven pages of writing today. We're pretty much in sequel mode, as Sophia and Ryan adjust to Sophia's escape and injuries and to the fact that they're now labeled as terrorists and being hunted. Following the scene/sequel route, next up is a new plan and then a new disaster. If you don't write scene/sequel, Dwight Swain's book, Techniques of the Sellling Writer is a really excellent resource. Here's my review: http://www.booksforabuck.com/writers/sellwrite.html
Besides writing and keeping track of activity in my open house, I got some reading done on Following my Toes by Laurel Osterkamp and published SPRING RAIN with Fictionwise.
For date night, Karen and I went to a brand new Italian place in Bishop Arts. I hope this one doesn't put Vito's out of business. I prefer Vito's garlic dough-balls.
I'm going to make HOMETOWN HERO by Robyn Anders the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day. Russell Lyons returns from Iraq without his memory--and he vows he'll reclaim it, his golden-boy life, and the beautiful fiancee he has waiting for him. But when he hires a cute reporter to help him find out about himself, he starts finding out that his earlier life might not have been as perfect as he'd thought. Powerful romance with a bite. Only $3.99. Learn more, read the excerpt, or buy the eNovel here: www.booksforabuck.com/rompages/rom_2005/hometown_hero.html.
