What a wonderful feeling. Regular readers of this blog know that I agonize over my rewrites. Still, there's something very special about writing a 'The End' (even if I don't actually type out The End). This means that the book is a book, that it has a beginning, middle and end, characters, plot, all of the elements of a book. Someone could pick it up now and recognize it as a (hopefully good) book. I like to think that I improve my books dramatically during rewrite, but it's still a book and I'm damned proud of it. What a great feeling.
Since it's November and NaNoWriMo month, (yes, that's redundant since the Mo stands for month--sue me) I'm going to start something new this weekend--after I publish Anthony Perham's Full English Problem attend the Mystery Writers meeting, and go to the Tae Kwon Do tournament. Okay, it'll be a busy weekend.
In order to finish my book, I wrote sixteen pages today--a lot for me since I normally exhaust myself in ten. Even better, I also managed to get a bridge game in. My partner and I finished above 50% for the first time in a long time--a great feeling and since this was a special game, it was worth a full master point. I was glad to see one of my students also at the game. I wrote eight pages on the train--coming and going to/from the bridge studio and then another 8 pages at home. Karen and I also went to the library. Oh, and I also have a new ad up--check out www.booksforabuck.com, scroll to the bottom, and click the banner. You can win some free books and stuff--and make it look like I'm generating a lot of interest so people will keep paying for ads on www.BooksForABuck.com. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
I'm going to make DEAD ON by Michael Paulson the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day.
