When I opened my file to get back to editing GOING POSTAL, I realized (to my horror) that I wasn't on page 279 at all. I was on page 140 or so--only about half as far as I thought I was. So, I spent much of the weekend editing, only to end up about 30 pages behind where I thought I was on Friday. There isn't a lot of justice here.
I still say that rewriting is hard work.
Karen has been feeling sick, but the weather, which has been a bit nippy, suddenly turned warm and we had to go outside and enjoy it. We walked to one of our neighborhood grocery stores and stocked up on dates (my favorite) and toilet pape (another favorite). When I'm not reading submissinos, I'm reading THE TURTLE MOVES! Lawrence Watt-Evan's overview of the Discworld saga. He's got an interesting take and he's read a lot more of these stories than I have (I didn't even know there were Discworld science books). There's also a cool picture on the cover. I've also got PRINCIPES FURY on my to-be-read pile, so I'm overwhelmed again.
