It seems like I just published Witch-Finder but time is running out to buy this really enjoyable collection for only $1.00 (regular price is $3.99 which goes into effect tomorrow). Witch-Finder is the story of a secret branch of the Church of England assigned the task of controlling demons, vampires, changlings, and elementals who threaten the lives of England's human population. I think I was sold the second I read the "College of St. Van Helsing" in the subtitle. Van Helsing, if you remember, is the vampire hunter from the novel Dracula. As far as I know, he isn't sainted in any known religion. But Vanessa Knipe's writing was what really hooked me. Check it out here: www.booksforabuck.com/sfpages/sf_08/witch-finder.html.
In a spurt of energy, I overcame the trauma of discovering I was 70 pages behind where I'd thought I was in my editing and completed the editing of Going Postal. Going Postal is the fourth (and possibly last?) in my Amy Eastlake Texas Trailer Park Mystery series (the others are Tornado Bait, The Chicken Rescue League, and Midlife Murder). I hope to publish it within the next week or so (depending on what it takes to get a cover out of the very busy Karen). The good news--Karen actually enjoys doing covers for this series as they allow her to reuse her trailers and chickens.
I finished reading the lastest submission from Joshua Calkins-Treworgy and I'm hopeful that we'll have his next fantasy available in January. Very exciting. I'm reading PRINCEP'S FURY by Jim Butcher. So far, this is not my favorite in the series. Reminds me of my first attempt at fantasy--too much army, not enough people.
I'm going to make WITCH-FINDER by Vanessa Knipe the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day. The faculty and students of the College of St. Van Helsing have their hands full with elementals, demons, vampires and other creatures of the night. Learn more, read the free excerpt, or buy the entire eNovel for only $1 (multiple formats) here (note: the $1 pricing ends tomorrow, Dec. 19th. It'll still be available for a highly affordable $3.99(. www.booksforabuck.com/sfpages/sf_08/witch-finder.html. Here's the cover (cover design by Karen Leabo):
