I've been working hard lately and today I had a payoff. I finally completed the publication process for CARPATIAN SHADOWS Vol. 1 by Lea Schizas, William Koonce, Eric Keith, Marcia Berneger, and Charles Mossop. This contemporary fantasy has aspects of horror with a scary Transylvanian castle and legends (and creatures) of ancient evil.
You can read more about CARPATIAN SHADOWS (Vol. 1) here: www.booksforabuck.com/sfpages/sf_07/carpatian_shadows_vol1.html.
Today Karen and I made the three hour drive to Shreveport, Louisiana where Karen addressed the local chapter of the Romance Writers of America on the perils and potholes of plotting. It was an excellent workshop. Although I'd heard her give this workshop before, I always keep my ears open. Just because you've heard the words before doesn't mean you were ready to receive the meaning. I think I got a bit more this time--which will help me write better.
Since we were traveling, I took along my eBookWise. For a special treat, I let myself start reading A HIGHLANDER FOR CHRISTMAS by Sandy Blair. Sandy is a talented author (and Golden Heart Winner) who writes the popular 'In a Kilt' series of light paranormal historicals/time travels. CHRISTMAS is a lot of fun--and it'll be out around Christmas so I got an early look.
I'm going to make (big surprise?) CARPATIAN SHADOWS Vol. 1 the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day. Ancient evil, a Transylvanian castle, and a group of tourists held up by a storm add up to a dangerous situation. It's only $1 for the first month (regular price, $3.99). Learn more, read the forward for Free, or buy the entire eNovel here: www.booksforabuck.com/sfpages/sf_07/carpatian_shadows_vol1.html. (Available in HTML, Adobe Acrobat PDF, Mobipocket, Palm DOC, and Microsoft Reader (LIT) formats. Here's the cover (cover design by Karen Leabo):
