rob: Good point, Amelia. The hours people spend reading are the greatest cost involved. Given that we sometimes get fooled and buy books we don't enjoy, it's nice to have a low cover price, too--if not for the successes, at least for the rejects.Rob

amelia: You may buy books because they are cheep (so you can fill a bookcase) or because you may or may not want it. But I hope people do not read books because they are cheap. time is to valuable

Website problems

I'm in Texas for bridge. This morning, Therese and I played at Dorsey's studio. It' wasn't always pretty but we managed to end up about 55% and came in second in our direction (2.2 points). Not too bad. This evening, there was a special game at Donna's studio. It was a team game so we hooked up with regular teammates Tom and Reg. We got off to a good start, winning our first round and squeaking by the team who was definitely the class of the night in round two. That's when things fell apart. We lost our next two rounds against teams who were definitely not as experienced as we are. We ended up somewhere toward the bottom. Because it was a special game, there were fractional gold points involved, and we ended up with two hundredths of a gold (and .44 black).

Tomorrow we try again.
