My entry, THE BILLIONAIRE'S PURCHASED PRINCESS came in second in the Lone Star writing contest. Obviously I was hoping for the win but second is still a pretty good showing. I've got Princess at Harlequin now and am hoping for a response fairly soon.
Another day, another crisis. I've planned on publishing the second volume in Vanessa Knipe's Theological College of Saint Van Helsing as my November book and realized I hadn't gotten a contract to her. So, I fired off an e-mail to let her know that the contract is on its way. I hope we'll be able to work this out but Vanessa lives in England so there is a lag.
I'm struggling along with my writing. I signed up for NaNoWriMo which, I hope, will motivate me. I got five pages written today. A decent day is ten. Still, 5 pages a day gets a book written eventually.
My partner and I had a decent showing in bridge today coming in third (out of ten) in our direction. Good for half a point. I'm used to playing charity games in Dallas but only a few of the Long Beach games are charity. Charity games pay off three times as much as regular. My partner and I agreed to play one round in a sectional and I arranged to play with another partner this weekend. Bridge can expand to fill every vacuum.
I'm going to make KORIANNA by Kristina O'Donnelly the www.BooksForABuck.com book of the day. In the convulsions of the dying Roman Republic, King Mithridates plans to carve out an empire of his own in what is now Turkey. In the convusion of war, Korianna, a young woman with a mysterious past, must find the truth about herself and about the men in her life. Historically fascinating, magical and romantic. Only $3.99. (Available in HTML, Adobe PDF, eReader, Mobipocket and Microsoft Reader formats) (Ask if you need Sony or ePub). Here's the link: http://www.booksforabuck.com/rompages/rom_2006/korinna.html. It's got a beautiful cover but Bravenet's image picker is acting up so check it out at BFAB.
